John Weir

John Weir is the head developer of the Mental Golf Type® program, the author of Golfer’s Guide to Mental Fitness, and co-founder to the Mental Golf Academy providing mental performance coaching to golfers worldwide. 
 
As a mental coach, John worked with the Mike Bender Golf Academy for five years, has coached two NJCAA National Championship Teams (2015 and 2019), and lead a NCAA DIII program to their first Conference Championship (2016). 
 
John also understands the pressures of tournament golf through years of first hand experience as a caddy. John was on the bag for a Top 10 finish at the Puerto Rico Open, and has been on the bag at Q-Schools for Web.com Tour, Korn Ferry Tour, European Tour, Asian Tour and Mena Tour. 
 
John is currently looping full-time on the Korn Ferry Tour and continues coaching other players in-between tournaments.   

Kiel Alderink

Kiel Alderink is the Head Mental Game and Performance Coach / Operating Partner of Mental Golf Type. 

Kiel is the Director of Instruction at The Academy at Black Creek in Chattanooga, TN and also remains a co-owner of his junior academy Champion Ways in Lake Bluff, IL. 

Kiel is recognized as a Top Teacher Under 40 in America by Golf Digest. Kiel is also listed as Top Teacher in Illinois by Golf Digest, and Golf Academy of America Top 25 Teachers. Outside of his junior golf academies, he works with professionals, college players and college teams on the Mental Game and Performance Side of Golf.  He is also a Class A PGA Professional. 

Kiel is far more than just an instructor as he serves his players with full coaching on how to raise their performance in any situation.

Kiel was a successful junior player and played in college. Ever since then he has been on a journey to understand high level performance and how players train to either succeed or fail. The principles of Champion Ways and all of his coaching are based on this journey and showing players the path of how to create their best selves.
