Get to know Federica Piovano
Born in Rome in 1981, Federica Piovano joined the Italian national amateur team at just 13 years old and quickly established herself as one of the country’s most successful young players. Her amateur career includes seven Italian titles, a silver medal at the 1998 World Team Championships, and a gold medal at the 2000 European Junior Team Championships.
Piovano turned professional after graduating from the national coaching school in 2003, earning her Ladies European Tour card the following year. In May 2005, she claimed her first professional victory at the Siemens Austrian Ladies Open in Vienna. Her standout 20th-place finish in the LET Order of Merit that season followed an intensive training period in Orlando with coach Kevin Smeltz at the renowned David Leadbetter Academy.
From 2005 to 2011, Federica Piovano recorded numerous strong performances—including ten top-ten finishes on the Ladies European Tour—before choosing in 2011 to transition full-time into coaching. Her commitment to professional development and high-level instruction has been reflected throughout her coaching career, highlighted by her victory at the 2024 PGAI Masters Championship.
She continues to expand her knowledge through extensive education and certification work, and since 2021 she has served as the Head Coach of the Parma Golf School – Golf del Ducato. She is also a proud member of the Italian PGA.
